Sheer Drops and Blue Skies: Kasano Cape

One of the more dramatic and memorable moments of our Kaga trip was to Kasano Cape, or Cape of Kasa. Besides the unique-looking white lighthouse perched on top, there are spectacular views of the Sea of Japan and a dramatic cliffside path to venture along (not for the faint-of-heart).

If you follow the winding path down - being careful not to miss a step or skid on any muddy patches - you will eventually get to cliff's edge and a pretty awesome scenic spot. There are some flimsy railings in place, but there you are basically as close to dropping into the foamy waves as you would get.

Enjoy the view. Contemplate a little on life.

I was definitely most taken with the expansive blue of the sea and sky. (I'm a sky person.) If you are ever in the area, do drop by for a few meditative moments or some pictures.

※ Special thanks to the Ishikawa Prefectural Government for organizing this tour.
