Komatsu Airport
(1) About Komatsu Airport
Located approximately in the geographical centre of the Japanese archipelago is Ishikawa Prefecture . Because of its excellent location, it is easy to access anywhere in Japan from the prefecture.

At present there are a total of 6 domestic routes to Tokyo (Haneda), Sapporo (Shin-Chitose), Narita, Fukuoka , Sendai , Naha . Internationally, the routes to Seoul and Shanghai are running all year long.

In addition, there are international charter flights to many different places in the world including Guam , Saipan , Taiwan , China , Korea , Thailand , and etc. Also, regular international cargo flights between Komatsu and Luxemburg have been operating since July, 1994.
(2) Flights to South Korea Have Been Increased to 4 Flights per Week
Starting April 3, 2004 , the number of flights between Komatsu and Seoul has been increased from 3 to 4 flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).

(3) Regular International Cargo Services Have Been Increased to 5 Flights per Week
Starting May 16, 2004 , regular international cargo services between Komatsu and Luxemburg have been increased to 5 flights per week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
(4) New Route to Narita Added
Flights between Komatsu and Narita began on November 1, 2004 . Thanks to the addition of this new route, the connecting time for not just domestic travelers but U.S. and Europe-bound (Frankfurt, London, Paris, New York, Washington, etc) international travelers alike through Narita has been shortened greatly (to less than one day for the latter), making it much more convenient for leisure and business travelers from the Hokuriku region to get to their destinations.

(5) Flight Increase on the Komatsu-Shanghai Route Approved
The application submitted by China Eastern Airlines to the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport on October 21, 2005 to increase its number of flights between Komatsu and Shanghai was formally granted approval on the date indicated below.

Details
(1) Flight Increase
From December 6, 2005, one additional flight a week (on Tuesdays) will be added to the existing two-flight-a-week schedule (currently on Thursdays and Sundays). The departure and arrival times of the flights are the same for all three flights, as specified below:
  Shanghai 9:20 am → Komatsu 12:30 pm
  Komatsu 1:30 pm → Shanghai 2:25 pm
* All departure and arrival times are indicated in local times (note that there is an hour time difference between Japan and China ; the flight takes about 2 hours one way).

(2) Aircraft
156-seat Airbus 320 (currently in use on the route)

* About the flight schedule coming next spring
The above flight schedule is temporary in nature and is valid only till March 25, 2006. Flights on Tuesdays will likely be moved one hour earlier starting March 26, 2006 (the exact times for other flights have not been determined yet).
